1. Summary
Miltrio is a GPS speedometer. It uses your device’s location (and, for some features, motion sensors) to show speed, trip stats, Live Activities, Watch updates, and CarPlay. Trip and preference data are stored on your device. We do not operate a Miltrio account system that sells or monetizes your driving history.
Optional Live Share uses Apple iCloud to share your live location with people you invite, only while a share session is active.
2. Information the app uses
- Location. GPS location is used to calculate speed, distance, heading, altitude, route points for your trip, Live Activities, Watch/CarPlay mirrors, and (if you start Live Share) temporary live location sharing with invitees. You can allow access while using the app, or Always when you enable background tracking / Live Share.
- Motion & orientation. Device motion (for example Core Motion) may be used for features such as pitch/roll on aviation-style gauges, vertical speed estimates, and eco/smoothness scoring.
- Contacts (optional). If you grant Contacts access, Miltrio may use a matching contact photo for Live Share map pins so friends can recognize you. Contacts are not uploaded to a Miltrio server.
- Photos (optional). If you choose a Live Share avatar from Photos, that image is stored on your device and may sync through iCloud as part of a Live Share session you create.
- Preferences. Settings such as units, gauge style, Live Activity style, warning speed, alert tones, and navigation app preference are saved locally (for example in UserDefaults).
- Trip history. Completed trips you save are stored on your device so you can review or export them.
- On-device analytics. Miltrio may keep simple on-device counters (for example which gauge styles you use) and may receive Apple MetricKit diagnostic summaries on the device. These are not uploaded by Miltrio to our own servers.
3. How information is used
- To display real-time speed and trip telemetry in the app, on Apple Watch, CarPlay, and Live Activities.
- To warn you when you exceed a speed limit you set (visual cues, haptics, and optional sound).
- To keep the screen awake while you are moving (local device behavior).
- To power optional Live Share sessions you start or join.
- To remember your settings and trip history on this device.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
Location and profile details are shared with others only when you use Live Share and invite participants through Apple’s iCloud sharing flow. Shared location is intended for the active session and the people in that share.
Apple provides the platforms Miltrio runs on (iOS, watchOS, CarPlay, iCloud, Push/Live Activities, MetricKit). Apple’s handling of data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple ID settings.
5. Data storage & retention
- Preferences, trips, and avatars you save are stored on your device (and, for Live Share, in iCloud as required by Apple’s CloudKit sharing).
- You can delete trip history in the app, clear a Live Share avatar, revoke location/Contacts permissions in iOS Settings, or delete the app to remove local data.
- Ending or expiring a Live Share session stops publishing your live location for that session.
6. Children
Miltrio is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your choices
- Deny or later revoke Location, Contacts, Photos, Motion, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- Turn off speed-limit warnings (including the Off quick preset) and alert sounds in Miltrio Settings.
- Avoid starting Live Share if you do not want to share location with others.
- Uninstall the app to remove local app data from the device.
8. International users
Processing happens on your device and, for Live Share, through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure in regions Apple operates. If you use Live Share across regions, Apple’s iCloud terms and regional availability apply.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Miltrio after an update means you accept the revised policy.
